Marcela Bovio is a Mexican soprano and composer, known in the progressive-rock / metal world for her work with bands and artists such as Ayreon, Stream of Passion, MaYaN, The Gathering and Anneke van Giersbergen’s project The Gentle Storm. Together with these acts she has toured all over the world and performed in front of thousands of fans.
She has been studying music since she was 5 and has been developing her singing technique from the age of 16. She has taken private lessons with teachers such as Oscar Martínez and Harry Ruijl, and has taken several courses and workshops in techniques such as Estill and Complete Vocal Technique. Marcela graduated in 2018 as one of the first Universal Voice Teachers At the Universal Voice Institute .
Marcela has been a singing teacher at the Metal Factory , the first program in the world that focuses on metal music. Because of her passion for metal and rock music and her work on this course, she has built up a lot of experience in coaching rock and metal effects.
